Jörg Dehm

Jörg Dehm (* 3. August 1963 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German politician of the CDU . From October 21, 2009 to June 22, 2014, he was Lord Mayor of the independent city of Hagen in the southeastern Ruhr area .

After attending primary school, Dehm completed his secondary education at the grammar school in Mülheim in 1979 with a technical college entrance qualification . His subsequent training took him to the personnel office of the Mülheim city administration, where he was employed with interruptions until 1996. From 1987 to 1990 he attended the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia , from which he graduated with a degree in administration .

From 1996 to 1999, Dehm was an advisor to the Mülheim City Director Hans-Ulrich Predeick, then until 2003 personal advisor to Lord Mayor Jens Baganz and then until 2009 City Treasurer of the City of Dinslaken .

In autumn 2008, the district executive of the Hagen Christian Democrats elected Jörg Dehm as a candidate for the mayoral election of the city of Hagen. In the election on August 30, 2009, Dehm was able to prevail with 39.5% against the second-placed SPD candidate Jochen Weber and took up the post of Lord Mayor on October 21, 2009 after the previous incumbent, Peter Demnitz , left.

Jörg Dehm is married, he and his wife have two daughters.

After a breach of trust in the spring of 2014, Dehm made his office available early for the 2014 local elections; Erik O. Schulz's successor was the joint candidate of the CDU, Greens and FDP in the runoff election on June 15, 2014.
