Concrete grinder
The concrete grinder is a hand-held power tool that is used to sand mineral substrates. Concrete grinders use round grinding discs , which are attached to the drive axle and rotate at speeds of up to 10,000 / min.
Concrete grinders are primarily used for grinding concrete and screed surfaces, but can also be used to remove plaster in the wall area. Modern concrete grinder as handsets have to be able to work alongside a fume hood, which can be partially open (eg., For between floor and wall) in border areas, also a car balancing unit that the grinding disc auswuchtet during operation automatically. For some devices there is an electronic speed control with which the speed of the sanding pad can be adjusted. Choosing the right sanding pad is particularly important for heat-sensitive old coatings made of plastics or bitumen, as the diamond sanding pads that are commonly used can smear here.
species
There are roughly 4 types of concrete grinder:
- Tower shape
- The electric motor is perpendicular to the surface to be worked on, the handles are attached parallel to each other to the right and left of the motor.
- Angle grinder shape
- The electric motor is connected in parallel with these devices to be machined substrate; its drive torque is diverted via a gear. It is operated like an angle grinder . Instead of the side handle, a bow or button handle can also be mounted on some devices.
- Pure floor grinder
- The electric motor is perpendicular to the ground to be worked on, the handle is connected to the drive unit via a drawbar.
- Floor grinding machines / floor polishing machines with satellite system (3 or 4 satellites)
- The electric motor is perpendicular to the ground to be worked on, the satellites rotate in counterrotation to the planet, usually at 3–6 times the speed. This technology is used when sanding artificial stone , natural stone and concrete floors , but also when sanding wooden floors. The evenness that is achieved by far exceeds previous methods.
