The Samchunri is a minibus and has been offered by the North Korean Pyeonghwa Motor Plant in Korea since 2005 .

As a sister model to the Chinese Toyota Hiace Series 100 , Pyeonghwa brought its first bus onto the market. Samchunri, which translates as the country of Korea , already indicates its limited sales market. The model is only offered in North and South Korea. In Vietnam, the People's Republic of China and the Czech Republic, the Samchunri is not offered because the Toyota sister model has been sold here for a long time. The Pyeonghwa Samchunri is manufactured by the Chinese automobile brand Jinbei, which belongs to the Brilliance China Automotive Holdings brand association . Identical sister model there is the second generation Jinbei Hiace Awing . The vehicle parts are manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation and delivered to Jinbei as so-called CKD kits, where they are then assembled. The curb weight of the car is given as 1700 kg.
A special feature of the Pyeonghwa version is the idiosyncratic front styling with a sporty and widened front apron, the chrome-plated radiator grille with headlamp eyelids and the two-color tone that makes the model look sporty and elegant. Inside, the Pyeonghwa is nothing special and offers a black, clear plastic dashboard, a 5-speed automatic gearshift and leather-covered seats, which do not offer the quality known in Europe. In a higher version, called Luxury , this quality is much better and can be upgraded from the factory without limits.
The Samchunri is not only intended to appeal to private individuals and families, a panel van version is also available. The Samchunri Van offers space for five or eleven people, while the Panel Van version only has space for five people. The only engine that is available is a 174 hp Otto engine from Toyota, which has a displacement of 2237 cm³. The luxury version should also have increased torque.
