The Pyronale is a fireworks competition that has been held every year since 2006 on two evenings in Berlin at the Olympiastadion / Maifeld . The official name of the event is "Pyronale - The Fireworks World Championship" .
Every year the pyrotechnicians compete and create music-synchronized fireworks. Every six years, the winners of the previous events compete against each other under the motto "Best of Six" (for the first time in 2012).
Regulations
The teams receive guidelines and a financial budget. The overall creative pyrotechnic composition must include the following points:
Mandatory (2 parts):
1st part: Approx. 1.5 minutes of fireworks without musical accompaniment with color specification
2nd part: Approx. 4 minutes with a music specification that applies to all participating teams
Freestyle (1 part):
Approx. 12 or more minutes of fireworks to music of your choice under the motto "My Country"
Jury & evaluation
The jury is made up of experts from the fireworks industry and celebrities from public life. So there is a professional and a creative jury .
The jury assesses the individual program parts of compulsory and freestyle as well as the overall concept. The evaluation is based on a point system from 0 to 8. The higher number corresponds to the higher evaluation. The evaluation criteria include creativity, variety of colors and the selection of effects, synchronization with music and artistic and technical execution. There may also be deductions if a team does not comply with the competition conditions. So is z. B. the use of so-called "lightning bolt effects" is strictly prohibited. The construction work of the pyrotechnicians will also be judged by the expert jury, with particular emphasis on safety and organization.
The winner of the day is chosen every evening by telephone voting by the audience. Since 2011, 30% of the audience rating has also been included in the overall rating. The award ceremony for the overall winner will take place on the second evening. Places one to three will be awarded.
