Pyrrolidine alkaloids
The pyrrolidine alkaloids are natural substances that are chemically derived from pyrrolidine .
Occurrence
Alkaloids with a pyrrolidine partial structure are usually further subdivided according to their occurrence and their biogenetic origin. Hygrin and cuscohygrin were isolated from the leaves of the coca bush , while (-) - codonopsinin was isolated from the clematis-like tiger bell .
Representative
The most important representatives of the pyrrolidine alkaloids include hygrin and cuscohygrin . Another representative is (-) - codonopsinin . Furthermore include Ruspolinon , Norruspolinon and Norruspolin to this alkaloid group.
properties
Many plants containing cuscohygrin are used as sedatives or narcotics in folk medicine of various peoples .
