Q-Berlin
The Q-Berlin (formerly: Q-Dorf or Ku'dorf) was a large discotheque in Berlin .
The Q-Berlin consisted of four discos and 18 bars. The former name Ku'dorf is derived from the nearby Kurfürstendamm ( colloquial : Ku'damm). The discotheque was located at Joachimsthaler Straße 15 in the district of Charlottenburg .
history
The Ku'dorf was founded on November 27, 1975 as Germany's first “beer village”. On 2000 m² there were 18 small bars, a fountain square, a jazz club and a wine bar with live music.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall , the club , which was established in West Berlin , was faced with new expectations from the public. So the beer village quickly developed into an "adventure discotheque". Unlike numerous other clubs in the former West Berlin, the then Q-Dorf managed to remain a fixture in Berlin's nightlife through massive changes.
In 2012, the nightclub was renamed Q-Berlin , which was hoped to have a rejuvenating effect.
The Q-Dorf has been closed since the end of 2015 and only the Maxxim offshoot is managed.
