QDX (VDA)

QDX is the abbreviation for Q uality D ata e X change and describes an IT standard that was developed by a working group of the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). The aim of the standard, which is based on XML technology, is to be able to exchange quality data ( complaints , 8D reports , etc.) electronically (i.e. without media discontinuity ) between CAQ systems from different manufacturers.

QDX defines the following documents in detail:

  • Project plan
  • Status report including a list of open points
  • List of critical product and process features
  • Measuring equipment capability study
  • Machine Capability Study
  • Process capability study
  • Management systems certificate and factory test certificate
  • Temporary or temporary release
  • Production process and product approval
  • Complaints and complaints
  • 8D report for processing complaints
  • Shortened feedback on the recognition of complaints
  • Feedback on complaints about field failures
  • Guarantee and goodwill data

The current version 2.0 of the QDX standard was released on November 9, 2009.
