The QEK 325 caravan was manufactured as the big brother of the QEK Junior or successor to the QEK Aero, which was built from 1986, from 1989 to 1991 as part of the consumer goods production of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) in the Hennigsdorf steel and rolling mill in Hennigsdorf near Berlin The Rhön Universal tent trailer was one of the last new concepts in caravan construction in the GDR. Production ended in 1991. It is estimated that only around 3,500 pieces were produced.
