QEX is a bimonthly US amateur radio magazine published by the ARRL . The magazine covers topics related to experiments on amateur radio and radio communications. QEX provides advanced technical articles on the theory, design, and construction of antennas and devices. QEX is published in English and has subscribers worldwide.

QEX began as a magazine in December 1981, subtitled "ARRL Experimenter's Exchange". The founding editor was Paul Rinaldo, W4RI, who also wrote many technical articles on the ARRL member journal QST . In January 2000, the ARRL acquired a competing publication, the Communications Quarterly , from CQ Communications, Inc. (which also publishes the CQ Amateur Radio magazine ) and merged the content in the QEX . The magazine's subtitle has been changed to “A forum for communication experimenters”.
