Qendra Tregtare Univers (in German: Handelszentrum Universum ), also called QTU , is a large retail company in Albania . The company owns a shopping mall and is owned by the Balfin Group, chaired by Samir Mane .

history

In August 2003, construction began on what was then the first shopping center in Albania in the capital Tirana . The Mall of Albania was officially opened on October 1st, 2005. The shopping center was designed by two Austrian architects and exceeded all expectations in terms of visitor numbers in the first few weeks. In 2006 the QTU in Tirana was expanded and renewed due to capacity load.

In 2007 the QTU expanded to Fier .

QTU Tirana

The property has an area of 21,500 m², 13,600 m² of which is shopping area. The building has 1000 parking spaces, 700 of which are covered. A Euromax supermarket is integrated in the shopping center , which, at 4,000 m², takes up the largest space in the building. The electronics store Neptun Shops is the second largest tenant with 1,700 m². There are a total of 75 shops and 3 restaurants and bars in the shopping center.

QTU Fier

Another QTU shopping center opened in Fier in 2007 . The building is located just one kilometer from the city center. This additional location was chosen because 45% of Albania's imports arrive in the port of Vlora, just 35 kilometers away . There are 20 shops and restaurants in the mall. The building has a strikingly round shape. In the meantime, the shopping center no longer belongs to the QTU group.
