Riding arena fabric

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The riding arena fabric is a geotextile separating layer between the base (drainage) layer and the footing in riding arenas . It is made from ribbon, splice yarn or plastic wires. The raw materials used are mainly polypropylene .

In the past, geotextile nonwovens were often used as separation . However, these have the disadvantage that if overstretched during riding, folds quickly form, which migrate to the surface of the footing and form dangerous tripping hazards there. Also, nonwovens were often simply laid overlapping. These too could bulge. Today, riding arena fabrics are used that are factory-made in one piece. They have strengths greater than 40 kN per square meter with low elongation.
