Qrafter is a program for iPhones and iPads, which can read QR codes , data matrix codes , Aztec codes and barcodes via the camera and from stored photos as well as generate QR codes and barcodes. The paid “Pro” version has the same scope of services, but is ad-free. Qrafter is a commercial QR code scanner and generator from the Turkish programmer Kerem Erkan. The author of Qrafter claims that his program is the only one that completely adheres to the established standards. In December 2015, according to the company, both versions of the app were downloaded ten million times together.

To minimize the dangers of decoding QR codes, Qrafter can use the Google Safe Browsing API to check Internet addresses for security-relevant information before opening them.

The history of scanned and generated codes is saved on the end device in an erasable "log".
