Quadband describes the ability of a mobile phone to support four main GSM frequencies, making it compatible with most 2G networks worldwide. The four supported frequency ranges are 850 and 1900  MHz (on the American continent used) as well as 900 and 1800 MHz, which are used in most of rest of the world (in Europe, Asia and Australia).
