The Quai des Belges is a transport hub in Marseille and is located in front of the Old Port, Vieux Port . Its importance for road traffic decreased with the construction of the Tunnel du Vieux-Port .

At the Quai des Belges you will find the Vieux Port stop of the M1 metro line and the landing stages for high-speed ferries and tourist ships to the Îles d'Frioul and the Château d'If , as well as to Cassis .

The Rue de la République flows from the north, the former Canebière avenue from the northeast , the Rue Breteuil from the south and the Quai du Port and the Quai de Rive Neuve from the west . As part of the European Capital of Culture 2013, the Quai des Belges has been redesigned into a traffic-calmed area since 2011 according to plans by Norman Foster . Since then there has been a 46 × 22 meter chrome-colored sun pavilion here.

The Marseille fish market takes place every day on the Quai des Belges.
