history

In the post-war period, the South Tyrolean economy developed very quickly. Products from South Tyrol were increasingly valued outside the region's borders. A trademark South Tyrol was introduced for the purpose of regional economic development .

With the entry into force of the Second Statute of Autonomy in South Tyrol in 1972, extensive competencies in economic development were transferred to the State of South Tyrol. The state government entrusted the Bozen Chamber of Commerce with the new tasks. In 1976, for example, the South Tyrolean trademark was developed, which enabled strong collective marketing. The trademark was available in red, green and blue versions. At that time it was the first quality mark in Europe. Initially, the marketing and sales promotion of the South Tyrolean products apple and wine began , but the range of products was steadily expanded.

In 2004 the umbrella brand South Tyrol was launched and so it was obvious to adapt the trademark accordingly. A uniform appearance was created. In 2005 the “Quality South Tyrol” mark was created. The promised high quality comes to the fore in communication. Products that carry the quality mark are a guarantee of tested quality from South Tyrol.
