Quartier Eurobahnhof
The Quartier Eurobahnhof is an inner city district of Saarbrücken directly at the main train station on the border with Rodenhof . The former railway site has been converted into a multifunctional quarter with event locations and company headquarters since 2005.
history
The Society for Innovation and Business Promotion (GIU), a subsidiary of the state capital Saarbrücken, acquired the 9 hectare site from Deutsche Bahn in 2005 . The basis was the new high-speed connection to Paris and Frankfurt am Main and the subsequent modernization of the station in the Saarbrücken 21 project . The official inauguration of the now modernized station took place on December 15, 2007.
