Quebecor or Québecor is a Canadian media company with headquarters in Montreal .

history

From its founding in 1950, Quebecor Media has grown from a small local newspaper to one of the major players in the Canadian media market.

The company was founded in 1950 by Pierre Péladeau and was continued by his descendants. Québecor operates in the media industry. Québecor includes the subsidiary Québecor World , which employs around 50,000 people, and Québecor Média . To Quebecor Média include various subsidiaries:

The group includes numerous subsidiaries, including publishers, television broadcasters and telecommunications service providers. Main competitor in French-speaking Quebec is Power . Quebecor 37 has newspapers, including the tabloids Toronto Sun and the Calgary Sun . Quebecor also owns the daily Le Journal de Quebéc with a total weekly circulation of around 8,400,000 copies (market share of around 21 percent).
