Cross nut bolt

M6 cross nut bolts

A cross nut bolt (also cross-threaded piston, round nut, clamp connector or connecting clamp) is a counterpart to screws or threaded bolts , similar to a nut . In most cases, a cylinder on the longer round side has an internal thread with a light insertion funnel.

Cross nut bolts can be used, for example, to firmly connect or pull wooden elements together without glue or wood screws. The bolt with the non-slotted round base is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the wooden element, turned in the direction with a flat-blade screwdriver and then pulled through a pre-drilled side hole to another wooden element with a machine screw, for example.
