Queso de Burgos

Queso de Burgos is a cream cheese made from sheep's milk that is made in the Spanish province of Burgos .

The cheese is white, soft, not creamy and has a very mild taste. Because of its high water content of 64 - 68%, the cheese has a limited shelf life. A loaf weighs 1 - 2 kg, is cylindrical and has no rind , but the cream cheese is also commercially available in packaged quantities of a few 100 g.

Queso de Burgos is eaten in Spain, among other things, as a dessert together with a kind of quince jelly (Spanish: membrillo ).
