Quinn Collins

Quinn Collins (* 1983 ) is an American composer.

Collins studied until 2005 at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati with Ellen Ruth Harrison , Darrell Handel , Frederic Rzewski , Christopher Bailey and Michael Fiday . He received his Masters degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009 , where he studied composition with Zack Browning and Erik Lund and electroacoustic music with Scott Wyatt .

His piece Two Hour Ride was performed at the 2006 International Gaudeamus Music Week in Amsterdam. Collins' compositions have been used in Trimpin's Piano Nonette Project in Seattle, in performances by the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble, and as film scores. He has received commissions from the Absolute Percussion and Kyklos ensembles , the f (x) ensemble , the Cadillac Moon Ensemble , the percussionist Justin Wolf and the trumpeter Andrew Kozar .
