Quinquennalia (Latin quinquennalia ) are anniversaries or celebrations that take place every five years in antiquity , there often the reign of the Roman emperors . The term is derived from the Latin "quinquennalis" - "five years", "five years", "every five years" (from "quinque" - five and "annalis" - year, annually). On the occasion of the celebration (s), the emperors made public promises to the people, such as tax breaks or similar pecuniary relief. The celebration was often documented with a coinage (coins with VOTA reverse ) (VOT V (5 years), VOT X (10 years), VOT XV (15 years) etc.).
