Rádio Comercial is a private radio broadcaster in Portugal with a format of current and older rock and pop hits.

The main slogan of the station is " (A Melhor) Música de hoje e dos Últimos 10 anos " (in German roughly: " (The best) music of today and the past 10 years "). In addition, one often hears " Para ouvir todo dia com o melhor som " (" For every day listening with the best sound ").

history

The direct predecessor of today's Rádio Comercial is the private radio broadcaster Rádio Clube Português (RCP), which went on air in 1930. This existed in its form until 1975, but was then nationalized in the course of the Carnation Revolution , like all private companies, and incorporated into the state radio company Radiodifusão Portuguesa (RDP). The RDP re-founded the station in 1979 under the current name Rádio Comercial .

In 1993 the station was privatized and sold to the tabloid Correio da Manhã . Media Capital ( PRISA ) and RTL Group later became owners. Today the station, based in Lisbon, can be received throughout Portugal. The broadcaster also offers a web stream on its website.
