The Roman tombstone in Le Bar-sur-Loup , a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region , dates from the 2nd century AD.

The well-preserved Roman tombstone was walled up at the base of the bell tower of the Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur church.

The inscription reads:

Quadratiae Sextinae / Val (eria) Marcella mater / filiae pientissimae / quae vixit an (nos) XXXI / et sibi viva fecit
"For Quadratia Sextina, the beloved daughter who lived 31 years, and for herself, the mother Valeria Marcella built [this stone] during her lifetime."
