The caldarium

The Roman Bath is an archaeological excavation site of a Roman thermal bath in the center of the Lebanese capital Beirut , the ancient Berytos.

Excavation site

The excavation is in the open air. For example, the caldarium , the warm room of the thermal bath, was exposed. In areas where the floor covering is missing, the sub-construction of the hypocaust , the columnar support of the floor covering and the free space created for the warm air can be seen. A water basin is also exposed. The excavation can be visited all day and free of charge.
