X-ray Ordinance (Switzerland)

The ordinance on radiation protection for medical X-ray systems , or the X-ray ordinance for short , is a ordinance for radiation protection in the medical field in Switzerland . It was issued on January 20, 1998 by the Federal Department of Home Affairs and came into force on April 1, 1998.

According to Article 1 No. 1, it regulates "the radiation protection of patients , staff and third parties when commissioning and using medical X-ray systems (X-ray systems) with tube voltages of up to 300 kV , with which photon radiation with an energy of over 5 keV is artificially generated and which are used for diagnosis or therapy on humans or animals. "
