The R-Biopharm AG is a German biotechnology company based in Pfungstadt . The company develops and sells test systems for clinical diagnostics, for personalized medicine and for food and feed analysis. Founded in 1988, the company employs more than 800 people worldwide and has over 30 subsidiaries. The chairman of the board is Christian Dreher.

history

R-Biopharm AG was founded in 1988 as a subsidiary of Röhm GmbH in Darmstadt and in 1991 through a management buy-out from Dr. Ralf M. Dreher taken over. In 1996 the company was certified according to the quality management standard ISO 9001 and DIN EN 46001, followed by certification according to ISO 13485 in 2003. In 2013, R-Biopharm AG and the city of Pfungstadt opened the “Biotech-Park Pfungstadt”, a center for start-ups -Biotechnology companies . In 2018 Christian Dreher took over the management of the company.

Products

In the field of clinical diagnostics, R-Biopharm develops test systems for the diagnosis of allergies, infections and gastroenterological diseases as well as for therapy optimization ( drug monitoring ). In the field of food and feed analysis, test systems are offered for the detection of ingredients, allergens, mycotoxins, antibiotics, genetically modified material and pathogenic microorganisms. Test systems for personalized medicine are developed in the Companion Diagnostics division . The test formats developed include a. Immunassays , PCR tests, lateral flow tests and immunoblots .

R-Biopharm was nominated as a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year competition in 2004, 2005 and 2006 .
In 2004 and 2005, R-Biopharm received the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award .
In 2012, 2013 and 2014 R-Biopharm received the Deloitte "Sustained Excellence Award".
