RU-Dead-Yet is a DDoS attack tool specially designed for HTTP DoS attacks. The principle behind RUDY is to send long form fields to a target server. RUDY takes a URL as input and recognizes all forms within the URL. In addition to the automatic recognition of web forms, most RUDY tools also allow the attacker to specify which web forms are to be attacked. RUDY then opens a few connections to the website that are online for a long time . These will be kept online as long as possible. The server thus receives many inquiries that it has to answer so that it is not available for an authentic visitor. The data is sent in small packets at a very slow speed; There is usually a ten second gap between each byte , but these intervals are not definitive and can vary to prevent detection of the attack. In comparison, other DoS attacks flood victims' servers by abnormally increasing traffic .

The effects of such an attack on the victim servers are, for example, drastically slow network connections and network disruptions, in some cases servers can even be brought down.

More features

Further features of RUDY are support for the SOCKet Secure (SOCKS) internet protocol proxy and session persistence with cookies .
