Holy Sacrament a Tor de 'Schiavi is the Blessed Sacrament consecrated Catholic church in the Roman district Prenestino-Labicano .

It is the titular church of the Cardinal Priest of Santissimo Sacramento a Tor de 'Schiavi and parish church of the Roman parish of the same name .

history

The associated parish was established on March 28, 1963 by a decree of Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara . The church was built between 1966 and 1968 according to plans by Francesco Fornari and consecrated on May 5, 1968 by Cardinal Vicar Angelo Dell'Acqua .

It was founded on June 1, 1972 by Pope Paul VI. and visited on March 14, 1993 by Pope John Paul II .

On June 28, 2017, Pope Francis elevated her to the title church.

description

The facade is in Romanesque style, with a canopy and veranda. The door is clad with a copper plate on which scenes from the Old and New Testament are depicted.

A weekday chapel is separated from the church interior by a glass pane.
