REBELS

REBELS is the title of a comic series that the American publisher DC-Comics published between 1994 and 1996.

The creator of REBELS , a spin-off series of the LEGION series, which appeared in 1989 , was the author Tom Peyer . The series was set in the field of science fiction / fantasy and was about the experiences of a group of former members of an intergalactic police force - the so-called LEGION - who travel through the cosmos as "space refugees" as a result of false accusations pursued by their former colleagues. The first issue of REBELS appeared in October 1994, the last issue in March 1996. The series totaled seventeen issues: Issues # 1 to # 16, as well as the special issue # 0. A special feature of the numbering of the booklets was that the title lines on the covers of every REBELS edition were given an additional year ( i.e. REBELS'94 / REBELS'95 / REBELS'96 ). While Peyer wrote all issues of the series without exception, the draftsmen Arnie Jorgensen and Derec Aucion worked on the series .

Plot and main characters

The series begins - following on from LEGION # 70, the last issue of the LEGION series - with the escape of the group, now known as REBELS, around the fallen LEGION leader Vril Dox from the LEGION headquarters.

Together with Dox, his team mates Stealth, Lobo , Borb Borbb, Strata and Giotto, as well as a being known only as a "telepath" and gifted with telepathic talents, flee . This group is pursued by their former LEGION colleagues at their head, Dox's scheming - although still in infancy - and highly gifted son, who is the originator of the cabal against Dox and his allies.

In the course of the series, the REBELS not only meet several times with the captors of Dox Jr., but also have to grapple with a criminal sect, the Blood Circle around its leader John Sin, Strata's ex-husband Garv and other dangers. Space heroes like the adventurer Captain Comet or the superhero Green Lantern come to help .
