RG-41 is a wheeled armored vehicle developed for military purposes by BAE Systems in South Africa .

The Denel Vehicle Systems RG41 8 × 8 armored personnel carrier (WACV) was equipped with the two-person tower Denel Land Systems (DLS), which was originally developed for the incoming 8 × 8 armored personnel carriers of the South African army.

Badger is to replace the currently used Ratel 6 × 6 IFV of the South African army.

The two-person turret is known as the Modular Combat Turret (MCT) and is equipped with a 30 × 173 mm dual feed cannon and a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun (MG). Either the commander or the shooter can put the weapons on the target, as both can see target images and fire safety information on flat screens at their weapon stations.

The tower traverse and the weapon elevation are exclusively electric, with manual back-up controls and a standard automatic target tracker (ATT).

There are other versions of the MCT, including one with a DLS 60mm mortar with breech block and one with two Ingwe laser guided missiles.

This family of turrets has also been adopted for some variants of the recently commissioned Gempita (AV-8) 8 × 8 IFV in Malaysia.

A typical RG41 crew, equipped with a one-man turret, would consist of 11 people: driver, vehicle operator, gunner, section commander and seven dismantles. The disassemblies are located in the rear and are equipped with a four-point belt.

The total vehicle weight (GVW) of the RG41 is 28,000 kg, of which 9,800 kg is the payload (weapons, ammunition, crew and fuel), according to Denel.

The baseline RG41 has STANAG 4569 Level 2 ballistic protection, but can be upgraded to Level 4 or 5. The mine protection corresponds to STANAG 4569 Level 4A / 3B, but can be upgraded to Level 4B.
