RM-ODP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

RM-ODP stands for Reference Model of Open Distributed Processing . This is since 1996 in the ISO - standard describes the ISO / IEC 10746 which is a meta model for describing information systems has as its object. RM-ODP defines the concepts that must be described by ODP Specification Languages .

Overview

RM-ODP is tailored to object-based systems, but can also be used for other types of systems. It became necessary because the Zachman Framework cannot easily be used for object-based architectures.

There are five generic views of the system.

The corporate perspective describes the business model from the perspective of management and end users.
The information view deals with the information, its structure, meaning and processing.
Only the system view deals with the interfaces of the distributed blocks ( components ).
The construction view takes care of the distributed collaborations and provision.
Ultimately, the technology view defines the concrete implementation of the architecture.

Applications

Since RM-ODP is kept very generic, it can be instantiated to the 4 + 1 view model and Object Management Architecture .

standardization

The ISO / IEC 10746 Information Technology - Distributed Processing in Open Systems - Reference Model is divided into the following four parts:

  1. Overview
  2. Basics
  3. architecture
  4. Architecture semantics
