Ras el-Tin Palace

The Raʾs-at-Tīn Palace ( Arabic قصر رأس التين, DMG Qaṣr Raʾs at-Tīn ) is a former royal palace on the Mediterranean coast in Alexandria that was built in the early nineteenth century. It clearly shows the influences of different architectural styles. In the course of time it was rebuilt and expanded several times. A number of European, mostly Italian architects and engineers were involved. It is still used today as a government building and is therefore the oldest palace still in use.
