Przydroże Wielkie ( German Groß Schnellendorf ) is a place of Gmina Korfantów in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location
Przydroże Wielkie is located in the southwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Friedlander Land. The village of Przydroże Wielkie is located about five kilometers southwest of the municipal seat of Korfantów , about 29 kilometers east of the district town of Nysa and about 43 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .
Przydroże Wielkie is located in the Nizina Śląska ( Silesian Plain ) within the Równina Niemodlińska ( Falkenberg Plain ). The Steinau ( Ścinawa Niemodlińska ) flows north of the village .

To Przydroże Wielkie belong the northern colonies Drewnica ( Colony Holzmühle ) and Kolonia Przydroże Wielkie ( Colony Groß Schnellendorf ).

history
The village was first mentioned as Predros in 1300 . In 1305 the village was mentioned again as Predros and Snellindorph .
After the First Silesian War in 1742, Groß Schnellendorf and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . At the end of the 18th century there was a manor and a water mill in the village.
After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community of Groß Schnellendorf belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1818 . In 1831 a chapel was built in the village. In 1845 there was a farm in the village, a Catholic chapel, a Catholic secondary school from the village of Klein Schnellendorf, a mill, a forge and 82 houses. In the same year, 446 people lived in Groß Schnellendorf, twelve of them Protestants. In 1853 a school was set up specifically for the site. In 1861 there were 512 people in Groß Schnellendorf. In 1865 the village had nine farmers, 25 gardeners and 24 cottagers. The local school had 145 Catholic students in the same year. In 1874 the administrative district Klein Schnellendorf was founded, which consisted of the places Ellguth-Steinau, Groß Schnellendorf, Klein Schnellendorf and Plieschnitz and the manor districts Ellguth-Steinau, Groß Schnellendorf, Klein Schnellendorf and Plieschnitz. In 1885 Groß Schnellendorf had 413 inhabitants.
In 1933 Groß Schnellendorf had 365 inhabitants, in 1939 again 350 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Falkenberg OS
As a result of the Second World War, Groß Schnellendorf fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Przydroże Wielkie and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1946 the German population was expelled. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ). In 2005 the village had 144 inhabitants.
Attractions
- The Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa (Polish: Kościół Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej ) was built in 1831. The church has been a listed building since 1959.
- In the Kolonia Przydroże Wielkie there is the single-storey Groß Schnelldorf Castle with a park. The park was placed under monument protection in 1949.
