The village was first mentioned as Pussina in 1300 . In the Middle Ages there was a castle in the village. It is believed that this was also in the possession of the Knights Templar . The tower of this castle had been preserved as part of the Puschine Castle until it was destroyed in 1945.

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Puschine and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . From 1743 to 1818 the place belonged to the district of Opole .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community of Puschine belonged to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1818 . In 1845 there was a castle, an outbuilding, a Catholic school, a brewery, a distillery and 87 houses in the village. In the same year 477 people lived in Pushine, twelve of them Protestant. In 1861, 677 people lived in Pushine. In 1865 the village had 37 gardeners and 35 cottagers. The local school had 96 Catholic students in the same year. In 1874 the administrative district Puschine was founded, which consisted of the places Piechotzütz, Polish Jamke and Puschine and the manor districts Polish Jamke and Puschine. The first head of office was the manor owner, Count Sierstorpff in Puschine. In 1885 Puschine had 540 inhabitants.

In 1933 Puschine had 642 inhabitants. On July 28, 1936, the place name was renamed Erlenburg . In 1939 there were 624 people in Erlenburg. During heavy fighting in the village in March 1945, a large part of the local buildings were destroyed, including the castle with the medieval castle tower. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Falkenberg OS

As a result of the Second World War, Pushine fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Puszyna and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1946 the German population was expelled. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ). In 2005 the village had 362 inhabitants.
