Jegielnica ( German Jäglitz , 1936-1945 Kleindorf ) is a place of Gmina Korfantów in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

Jegielnica is located in the southwestern part of Upper Silesia in the Friedländer Land. The village of Jegielnica is located about twelve kilometers southwest of the municipal seat of Korfantów , about 22 kilometers southeast of the district town of Nysa and about 53 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

Jegielnica lies in the Nizina Śląska ( Silesian Plain ) within the Równina Niemodlińska ( Falkenberg Plain ). The place is on the left bank of the Steinau ( Ścinawa Niemodlińska ).

history

The village was first mentioned in 1285. In 1351 the place was mentioned as Jegelnicz .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Jäglitz and most of Silesia fell to Prussia .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Jäglitz belonged to the district of Neisse in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there were 37 houses in the village and a total of 253 Catholic residents. In 1865 the village had eight farmers, ten gardeners and 23 cottagers. In 1874 the district of Steinsdorf was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Jäglitz, Prockendorf and Steinsdorf. In 1885 Jäglitz had 261 inhabitants.

In 1933 Jäglitz had 227 inhabitants. On November 27, 1936 the place name was changed to Kleindorf . In 1939, 201 people lived in Kleindorf. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Neisse .

As a result of the Second World War, Jäglitz fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Jegielnica and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1946 the German population was expelled. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ).
