The village was first mentioned as Vlost in 1425 .

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Floste and most of Silesia fell to Prussia . Between 1743 and 1818 the village belonged to the Opole district .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Floste belonged from 1818 to the district of Falkenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole . In 1819 a school was established in the village. In 1845 there was a Catholic school and 42 houses in the village. In the same year, 384 people lived in Floste, seven of them Protestants. In 1865 there were 10 farmers, 16 gardeners and 10 cottagers in the village. The one-class Catholic school was attended by 105 students in the same year. In 1874 the administrative district of Schloß Friedland was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Ellguth-Friedland, Floste, Hammer, Hillersdorf, Julienthal, Nüßdorf, Ranisch and Woistrasch and the estate districts of Ellguth-Friedland, Floste, Friedland, Schloß and Nüßdorf. The first head of office was the landowner Krautwald. In 1885 Floste had 417 inhabitants.

On October 31, 1928, the two villages Floste and Woistrach were merged to form the rural community Floste-Woistrach . In 1933 the community Floste-Woistrach had 709 inhabitants. On July 28, 1936, the name of the rural community was changed to Floste . In 1939 Floste had 680 inhabitants. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Falkenberg OS

As a result of the Second World War, Floste, like most of Silesia, came under Polish administration in 1945 . The place was subsequently renamed Włostowa and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1946 the German population was expelled. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Nyski ( Neisse district ).
