IC 5043 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sc in the constellation Indians in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 617 million light years from the Milky Way and about 110,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies IC 5033 , IC 5034 , IC 5035 , IC 5036 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 17, 1904 .
