IC 5055 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Peacock on southern sky . It is estimated to be 433 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 5052 .
The object was discovered on September 26, 1900 by the astronomer DeLisle Stewart and later listed by Johan Dreyer in his index catalog .
