IC 5052 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBcd in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 21 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across. Five X-ray sources have so far been discovered in this galaxy .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy IC 5055 .
The object was discovered on August 23, 1900 by the astronomer DeLisle Stewart and was later listed in his index catalog by Johan Dreyer .
