IC 5031 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type S in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is an estimated 431 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly. Together with IC 5032 , it probably forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair.
The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on September 24, 1900 .
