IC 5022 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Octant in the southern sky . It is an estimated 520 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered by DeLisle Stewart on September 22, 1900 .
