Ian R. Peel (born January 18, 1958 in Skipton-on-Swale ) is a retired British marksman .

successes

Ian Peel, who for the East Yorkshire Gun Club was active, participated three times at the Olympic Games in the trap part. In 1988 he finished 25th in Seoul . At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he reached the final, which he finished with 142 points in second place behind Michael Diamond and ahead of Giovanni Pellielo and thus won the silver medal. He finished the 2004 Athens Games in 19th place. In 1996 Peel became European champion in Tallinn .

At the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh , he won the gold medal in both the individual and the pair competition in the trap. In 1990 he repeated this success in Auckland in the pair competition, while he won the bronze medal in the individual. In the individual competition, Peel won silver in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur , whereas this time he took third place in the pairs competition. Four years later he won the silver medal in a pair competition in Manchester .

Peel is married and has two children.
