Giovanni Pellielo (born January 11, 1970 in Vercelli ) is an Italian sports shooter .

Pellielo has participated in seven Olympic Games so far and won four medals. He is one of the athletes with the most participations . His specialty is trap shooting .

Private

Pellielo is a qualified agricultural technician and also began studying genetic engineering , which he broke off prematurely. Because of an asthma illness , he did not start active sports until he was 15, initially in dance , where he became Italian junior champion.

Athletic career

Pellielo only started shooting sports at the age of 18. Four years later he was appointed to the Italian Olympic team. In addition to the successes at the Olympic Games, he has so far won six medals at world championships (including three gold) and eight medals at European championships (two gold) in individual competitions. In the team standings, there are another seven world championships and ten European championships.

Pellielo was awarded the Knight's Cross, the Officer's Cross and the Commander's Cross for the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .
