The Radetzky class was a battleship class of the K. uk Kriegsmarine and named after Josef Wenzel Radetzky von Radetz . It consisted of the following ships, all of which belonged to the 2nd Heavy Division of the 1st Squadron:

The Radetzky-class ships were built between 1907 and 1910 at the Stabilimento Tecnico Triestino shipyard in Trieste .

They only took part in the First World War to a limited extent , as they were already obsolete as semi-dreadnoughts when the war broke out and were locked in by the Allied barrier to the Otranto strait in the Adriatic. After the war, the ships were first handed over to Yugoslavia , then to the USA and Italy , where they were scrapped between 1920 and 1926.

  • Drive: 2 steam engines with 12 coal-fired Yarrow boilers - 20,000 HP; partly also with oil firing
  • Speed: 20 knots
  • Range: 4,000 - 6,000 nautical miles (7,400 - 11,100 km) at 10 knots
  • Fuel: 1,350 - 1,800 tons of coal, e.g. T. 188 tons of oil
  • Crew: 880-890 officers and men
  • Armament: 4 × 30.5 cm / L45 in two twin towers, 8 × 24 cm / L45 in four twin towers, 20 × 10 cm / L50 rapid fire cannons in casemates, 6 × 7 cm rapid fire cannons / L44, 3 × 45 cm underwater torpedo tubes
  • Armor: belt: 230 mm; Deck: 48 mm; Towers: 200 - 250 mm; Casemates: 120 mm; Navigating bridge: 250 mm
