The Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network RAYNET is the association of radio amateurs for emergency radio in the UK . While emergency radio teams in other countries only act in disaster or major damage cases, the association also works to support large public events. RAYNET teams are z. B. at marathons like the Great Scottish Run u. a. involved.

history

The organization was founded in response to the flood disaster of 1953 in order to make the infrastructure of the radio amateurs available to the public in case of need. Today around 2000 members work to provide radio support for several hundred events and events each year.

The organization supports professional and voluntary aid organizations across the country.
