Radio Graz was a radio station in the greater Graz area . Radio Graz broadcast its 24-hour radio program on the analog terrestrial frequency 94.2 MHz and was 100% owned by IQ Plus Medien GmbH.

history

On April 2, 2007 IQ Plus Medien GmbH was granted the license. Radio Graz finally started on February 2, 2008 at 9:42 am as part of a broadcast launch celebration and live broadcast from Graz City Hall.

After the station had been taken over by the Radio Energy Group (initially owned by Leykam Verlag), the latter applied to change the program in 2011. Radio Graz was supposed to be converted into Energy Steiermark together with "Radio eins", which KommAustria rejected in September 2011.

On July 1, 2013, broadcasting was discontinued. As the media report, the last number played was Hans Moser's curfew . The media authority issued several notices against the broadcaster because it violated the licensing requirements. The operators wanted to start Radio Energy, known from Vienna, Salzburg and Tyrol, on frequency 94.2. Originally, Radio Graz was licensed for the music genre evergreens and oldies and not for pop music.

The frequency has been put out to tender. In future, the Radio Stephansdom, named after the Viennese landmark , will be heard on the Graz frequency 94.2 .
