Radio Mogadishu
Radio Mogadishu , Somali Radio Muqdisho , Arabic راديو مقديشو, is the state radio station of Somalia and reports to the Ministry of Information, Post and Telecommunications.

The radio station was founded in 1951 during the colonial era, when Italy administered parts of what is now Somalia as trust territory. Initially, the station broadcast only in Italian. The station later also recorded a Somali-language program. In the 1960s, the radio station was modernized with Soviet support and offered a program in Somali, Amharic and Omoro .
With the outbreak of the civil war in Somalia in the 1990s, the radio station was taken over by various warlords who used the station for propaganda purposes. The transitional government ruling from 2000 under Abdikassim Salat Hassan took over the station in the early 2000s. Before August 2011, the radio station broadcast from a military camp near Mogadishu guarded by soldiers. With the pacification of the capital, the station moved to the city center.
Since the late 2000s, the radio station has been adding a website with additional Somali news.
