The Raemmelkenbrücke was a bridge in the area of today's Rheda-Wiedenbrück on the way between the Rheda district and Oelde . According to legend, a ghost should have dwelt under this which frightened hikers when they passed. To protect themselves from this, hikers should say the following saying:

Raemmelken, Raemmelken, shake yourself,
are you from God, come to me
are you from the devil, stay from me!
Rämelken, Rämelken trunk di!
God kumm thaw mi!
You're owwer von'n Düwel goah von mi!

At the place of the old bridge there is now a memorial stone with this saying.
