Rafael Rodríguez Colón
Rafael Rodríguez Colón (born October 14, 1906 in Mao ; † unknown) was a Dominican medic, politician and musician.
Colón attended the Escuela Graduada Mixta , studied music with Rafael Emilio Arté and played the clarinet and drums in the Mao Municipal Band. Later he was a member of the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional under the direction of Enrique Casal Chapí and played as a chamber musician in an octet.
In 1942 he graduated as a doctor of medicine, and after an internship at the Hospital de Gaspar Hernández , he opened a private clinic in Mao in 1945. He was President of the Mao City Council on several occasions, as well as a member of the National Congress and from 1970 to 1974 Senator for the province of Valverde . He also acted as the Médico Legista of the province and was president of the Asociación Médica del Norte .
