Rafael Sanchez (born June 23, 1963 ) is a former Spanish professional footballer and today's coach .
Rafael Sanchez played from 1983 - with an interruption in the 1989/90 season at SV Edenkoben - for nine seasons at SV Darmstadt 98 . As a midfielder, he scored a total of 21 goals for the Darmstadt team during this time. The most successful seasons were 1986/87 and 1987/88, when his team reached fourth and third place in the 2nd Bundesliga . He then moved to SV Mörlenbach and then as a player-coach for VfR Bürstadt in the Landesliga and Oberliga Hessen, before becoming a player- coach in 2005, first at the regional upper division Rot-Weiß Darmstadt and the following season at the regional division RSV Germania Pfungstadt.
From November 2007 to January 2009 he coached VfR Mannheim in the major league. In the 2009/10 season he was the coach of FC 07 Bensheim in the association league. From November 2010 Sanchez looked after the FSV Schneppenhausen (group league Darmstadt) before he left the club again in April 2013. From July 2013 to May 2016 he coached KSG Brandau (Kreisliga A Darmstadt). Since the 2016/17 season, Sanchez has been training SKG Bickenbach, who was relegated from the district league (Darmstadt / Groß-Gerau) to the district league A Darmstadt. In the 2017/18 season, Sanchez celebrated the championship with Bickenbach in the district league A and rose to the district league. In March 2019 of the 2018/19 season, SKG Bickenbach and Rafael Sanchez separated by mutual agreement.
